Don’t look at the thermometer, nothing is changing so much. Generated by the author.

Recently I watched the movie “Don’t Look Up” for the first time and saw how incredulity, politics, and sensationalism led to disaster in a life-or-death situation. In the movie, fake news, mixed with the “politicization” of reality, places the discussion at such an absurd point where people looking at the sky can see the comet, and the deniers adopt the slogan “Don’t look up.” Meanwhile, today I find myself immersed in another “extraordinary” heat episode of this year, and people are still waiting for the climate change. It’s already here, and we should start acting.

July 2nd

July 2nd of this year was a third consecutive day of extreme heat, and walking on the street was almost completely discouraged. Yet, a couple of years earlier I read about Portland that in the summer of 2023 the temperature differential reached 25°F from one neighborhood to another. And around 20ºF in Houston. So, could that be happening also in my little town?
